It is not a new thing, there was no such restriction earlier too. For appearing B.TECH entrances PCM is mandatory. You can have any subject for elective though Biology is mandatory for Bioengineering and Bio-tech. For CSE, there was or there will be no such restrictions. A score of my batch-mates are from Bio, still they have successfully landed offers with CSE.

I am giving this answer in very short way and the answer is I can give you two easy and hard way
Easy Way- You can take admission in any normal college without any B.Tech (These all colleges are private and not very high level like placements and good faculty members not available in all colleges. )
Hard Way - Do preparation for JEE Mains if you want to take admission in B.Tech, and then give entrance exam. Here, there is not only JEE Main, there are many more exams but for every exam, you need to study hard because here is very high competition for top colleges.

Yes, there is a reservation for children of Indian workers in Gulf countries at the College of Engineering, Pune. The supernumerary quota reserves 15% of the seats at COE Pune. Out of these 15% of seats, around one third are reserved for the children of Indian workers in Gulf countries. Persons of Indian origin (PIO), foreign nationals, and children of non-resident Indians (NRI) are eligible for rest seats in the supernumerary quota. You have to select your category in the application form, and on the basis of your 12th grade equivalent exam marks, you will get admission to the respective course.

B.Sc. Does not considered is very tough even in mathematics because we have engineering courses too. If you regularly follow the classes and practice the problems then B.Sc. In mathematics would not be tough for you. As per the sources or experts say It depends upon the capability of your efforts on the stream you choose and it doesn't matter whether you choose private or government is not required.

Hi,
Biotechnology course for Plus Two students in the Science stream. Out of these 2, according to me B.Tech Biotech is good as it has a much good scope and jobs available than just simply B.Sc. In Biotech. B.Tech Biotech is more of a professional degree than just a B.Sc. Biotech degree. Pharmaceutical Consultant. Research Scientist. Business Developer. Biotechnologist. Clinical Technician. Software Developer. DNA Analyst. The top areas of research for the B.Sc. Biotechnology students are in Medical Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, Environment Conservation and Biodiversity, and Genetics, to name a few.
