With a B.Tech in mechanical engineering, you can join the Indian Railways in two ways.
1. The first is the prestigious Indian Engineering Services IES for railways. After passing the IES exam offered by the UPSC you can become an IRSME. You need to select Mechanical Engineering when filling out the application form. After passing the written test, you will be required to select "preferred services" in DAF, where you can select the Ministry of Railways. You'll work as a mechanical engineer for the railways after getting IRSME service.
2. The second job is as a junior mechanical engineer. The Indian Railways offers this position to candidates who pass the RRB JE exam. You must submit an application for the group of mechanical and allied engineers. After passing the exam, you will get a job as a junior mechanical engineer.
