CSE in KGEG with this rank is quite tough but other branches are easily available in kgec. On other hand I can't say much about IEM but one thing I know that IEM is more like a school rather than a College, that means no college life, also for CSE there are many clubs present in KGEC which are improving day by day. Now let's talk about the placements, so basically in KGEC if you are placed in one company then you are not eligible to appear in other companies placement drive if they are giving the same package on which you got hired in other company. For example, if company A hired you for 3.5 LPA then you are not eligible to appear in other companies which are giving package between 3 to 4 LPA but you are eligible to appear in companies who are giving more than 4 or less than 3. For placement rule of IEM, I don't know their policy so better you contact a IEM student. I hope this clarify your doubts.

In the matter of scope, CS Engineering has more demand and scope as compare to Civil Engineering. The placement package of CSE is higher. The placements at LPU are almost unexpectable. Someone gets a really good package while some get very less, it depends upon your portfolio and the interview. Mostly, the interviews matter a lot. If you did well over there you will definitely get a good job. Recently in the Amazon placement drive, 15-16 students got a package in the range of 11-16 Lacs and it's a good package, Tanya Arora she got 42 LPA from Microsoft. But at the same point, there are some companies who took the students at the package of 3.5-34.5 Lacs. There will be many placement drives conducted by Tech Mahindra, Samsung, Koni Labs, Hitachi, Honda and many more. It depends on how you perform.
