Yes your Diploma percentage does matter for taking admission in B.Tech as your eligibility will be checked through your Diploma marks only. See the eligibility criteria, you are seeking admission through lateral entry so for lateral entry admission scheme to get into the 2nd year of B.Tech your Dilpoma CGPA or Percentage is considered for the admission. You need to get a minimum of 6/10 CGPA or similar percentage but u will get the seat only after the merit list or if u are eligible then u may give entrance exam and as per the entrance exam result u will be able to manage a seat. Yes, for B Tech only 50 percent mark required (general), for others 45percent, according to JEE. For some private university mark doesn't matter. Don't worry you will get a seat.

M.Des Program Offered by IIT Bombay requires an Engineering Graduate Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD). The candidate should have also qualified through Common. Entrance Examination for Design  (CEED).
