Higher studies of course. If you plan high and crack IIT-JAM exam, it will be better add on then anything. Else prepare well for other M.Sc exams coming up and start preparing for CSIR NET/GATE from day one, you will get admission in M.Sc.

Well, being a bio student you cannot opt for an IIT to study B.Tech as IIT admission is strictly on the basis of JEE scores. Though, there are colleges like:
1. SRM.
2. LPU.
3. DY Patil and some state colleges those offer B.Tech/BE biotechnology to bio students as well.

Now many university do offer this field to PCB or PCM students but you need to check university wise eligibility and admission procedure.
