On behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET). UGC NET is conducted twice a year in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. There are many institutes/universities who advertise positions for research work and they look for candidates with M.Sc. Botany. Option 2: You switch from botany to other specific biological field such as M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Genetics & Cell biology, M.Sc. Environmental Science, M.Sc. Forestry. All these have quite good demand in research organisations. Option 3: You can go for the integrated M.Sc+PhD programme.
