Before obtaining study permit you must receive the acceptance letter from a Canadian institute. This is to prove that you have been accepted. You must also show proof that you have sufficient funds for your stay in Canada. You will apply for the visa at the Canadian embassy with documents they ask for. In canada, you may look for university of Toronto, waterloo , Calgary. To apply there, you need to first be in touch with a supervisor or guide anf share your research proposal, if approved you may go ahead with the rest of requirements like IELTS etc. In india, you may look for
