Regarding preparation of CAT test I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
After few weeks of self study you may then consider joining some good coaching institute which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance tests.
The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude however I would suggest you for self study of minimum of 3-4 hours daily apart from coaching.

If you mean full time MBA or PGDM program then please in order to pursue this program you need to take various management entrance test like CAT, MAT, XAT, SNAP, etc.
Please note that without taking management entrance test it would not be possible for you to get admission in this program.
For your reference find below various national level management entrance tests.

- ATMA.
So as per your query I would suggest you to take atleast one of the entrance test mentioned above and score well so that you may get admission in good B-school.

Ya you can take take admission in some of the decent college which are having their own selection process or you can also go through management quota.
