It's great to fulfill wishes of your mom but a word of caution, placements in aeronautical engineering branch are very poor. Majority of students end up seeking admission for MBA or ME. Knowing your middle class background, I would strongly recommend that you go for aircraft maintenance engineering or AME. It's a three year course and good opportunities for placements.

Hi,
It's a very generic query, it's difficult to say without knowing what your academic background is, your percentile and also your desired programme of study. In this situation you can check studyabroad.shiksha.com for a whole compilation of courses, colleges along with their fees, etc. You can pick as per your budget, etc.

To get admission in lateral entry that is directly into second year is possible only after Diploma studies. It is not possible after 12th. I suggest you to pursue B.Tech from the 1st year so I will help you in the future placements.

It is nice to see that you want to be an IAS aspirant. IAS can be pursued by students from any stream, it is never restricted to any particular subject. But then it is always suggested for humanities graduates to pursue the same. As the IAS subjects are more about politics, sociology and other subjects, few of these are covered in BA degree. So it's quite good to have BA base for IAS exams. My perspective and my suggestion for you would be BA for a strong and healthy background for IAS studies.

In case of joining Indian Air Force and Indian Navy as Officers, there is no provision available for commerce student's right after 12th. They may join Indian Navy or IAF after graduation though.
Commerce stream students may join Indian Air Force as officers (in Ground Duty Branches) after graduation, by appearing for AFCAT examination.

There are a number of options after class 12th based on subjects. If you followed science in 12th then you can go for B.Tech, B.Sc or in medical field you can go for pharmacy, BDS, etc. If you are an arts student choose your interested subject/subjects.
