This will depend on that in which area you want to be a scientist in. In common practice, a prospective scientist in the field of PCM will take a B.Sc program and further elevate his qualification by M.Sc and Ph.D which will include research and development, publications, etc.

It will depend on what you want to study or example if you want to pursue engineering you can take JEE, VITEEE, BITSAT, etc. If you want to go into the defence sector some exams include Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test, Indian Navy B.Tech entry scheme, National Defence Academy and Naval Academy examination, etc. Similarly, for pure science, you may consider Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research Exam and National Entrance Screening Test (NEST). There are many options depending on your subject interest.
