We all fall prey to cliches or innuendo's. This is one such case. Believe me, there is absolutely no difference between NIOS 12th and CBSE's. You can definitely join either based on your NIOS 12th.

It's very nice to know that you have done diploma in fire & safety. This training has great potential in all industries. They are mandatirily required to employ trained personnel to ensure safety.
Of course if you decide to do degree in same subject, your prospects will further increase.

(a) B.Tech CS/ IT
(b) BCA-MCA,
(c) B.Sc-M.Sc CS/IT.
(d) Diploma in Computer Science from a polytechnics
(e) Computer courses
With you are subjects in 10+2 you are eligible to do any of the degree or diploma mentioned above to become a software engineer. You may work hard to do B.Tech CSE/IT from a prestigious engineering college.

Diploma Class 10th pass from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelors Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelors degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate & PG programs may also require you to appear in entrance exams such as NCHMCT, AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT etc.

Some universities require minimum pass percentage of 50% in PCM (10+2) level. Few reputed universities conduct entrance exams for admission into B.Sc. courses.
Selection is based on marks scored in the entrance test and marks scored in the 10+2 level.
