2016? That means you have already given the improvement exam in 2017. If not then there is no possibility to sit for 2018 CBSE improvement exam in your case. If you had appeared for 2017, then you can give the improvement exam held by CBSE and can improve your score. All the best.

There are other parameters like entrance exam score, group discussion, personal interview, aptitude test etc. Parameters would vary from college to college.
