JEE Mains and board exam preparations can go hand in hand especially for CBSE / ICSE students.
You need to understand every concept of NCERT text books. JEE mains questions are purely based on NCERT. Further, few tricks like dimensional analysis, substituting values an eliminating options can help you to "hack" questions.

Following are career options for PCM students after 12th:
(a) B.Tech
(b) BCA-MCA
(c) B.Sc physics, chemistry, maths, statistic or B.Sc CS or IT
(d)B Architecture
(e) B.Sc forensic science
(f) Biotechnology
(g) BBA
(h) BCA
(I) 5 years integrated law
(j) Hotel management
(k) Fashion Designing or Fashion Technology
(l) Change to humanities or commerce stream of fine arts
(m) NDA to join Armed forces as an officer
Each of the option mentioned above has its own pros and cons and you may choose any based on your interest to excel in professional life.

Those who do not make it to JEE have two options, dropping one year for preparation or joining any engineering college or polytechnic. With polytechnic you will take 6 years to become an engineer. Therefore, choosing an engineering college with good faculty is a good option. After clearing GATE for M.Tech with education from a normal engineering college is an option to overcome not doing B.Tech from IITs or NITs.
Devoting 1 full year for competitive exams such as JEE preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for competitive exams. It will allow you to take

She can take MBBS, if she score more than 1190. If she gets above 1150, she can take BE or B.Tech. If she get above 1000 or around 800 to 900, then she can opt for B.Sc or B.Ed course.
