Dear Satyam,
Civil engineering is the best choice. It has a vast scope in India and abroad. You can get good salary package after doing B.Tech in civil engineering. Moreover, there is also a chance to get government jobs.
All colleges are good, it depends on you. Some companies do pool campus drives but the best colleges are Lovely Professional University, Chandigarh University, Thapar University and Madam Mohan Malviya Engineering College.

Civil engineers are employed mostly in project management and execution of construction projects. Therefore, the intial career of the majority of civil engineering graduates is full of fieldwork. The amount of field work reduces with experience from middle management onwards.

To prepare for government jobs, you can appear for GATE. Many PSUs like IOCL, CONCOR, ONGC, HAL recruits students through GATE. Shortlisted students are called for interviews and then based on it, they are finally selected.
