All branches of engineering have similar degree of difficulty and it is not right to say that ME & CE are tough. First year is common to all branches and mathematics is there till 2nd year. Job wise, 90% campus placement is done by IT companies and therefore placement during college campus is difficult for ME/CE. The next factor is the college. Bigger companies go to only those colleges who have passed out at least 2 batches and have good infrastructure, faculties, networked computers, seminar hall etc. The third factor is the student himself. GATE is post graduate level MTech or M tech-with felloship course entrance test and widely accepted in indian premere institutes.
On The Other Hand GRE is Entrance Test for entry into foreign university Science & Technology cources. And still not accteted By indian colleges or universitiesor IIT's.
So For Study in India GATE is the only choice.

Hi Vinit,
if you are interested in Diploma programme, you must have to be ITI or 10th Pass. If you want Professional Graudate Programme, you must have to be Diploma or 12th holder.

Admission to M.tech in Civil Engineering shall be made on the basis of-
1. Merit in GATE as 1st preference.
2. Merit in Qualifying Exam as 2nd preference.
The minimum eligibility criteria is- Minimum 55% Marks or equivalent CGPA in B.Tech from a recognised University or equivalent examination.

If you have interest in interior design field then you may opt for it.
The basic eligibility to join this course is to pass 12th in any stream. There is no age limit.
Admission will be on the basis of the score in the institute's entrance exam and interview thereafter.
Interior Design requires professional experience and training and certification by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification.
You may contact the institute officials directly for specific criteria and admission details.
