Colleges in Assam

Candidates willing to take admission in MA in Education at Assam University should have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in B.Ed. Examination or with at least 40% marks in honours course or 45% marks in UG degree in Arts, Science or Commerce are eligible for admission.

Assam University admission in MA in Education seats are filled up based on merit in the CUET-2023 to be conducted by NTA. However, up to a maximum of 50% of the seat shall be reserved for candidates who graduated from Assam University-affiliated colleges with lateral migration based on merit. Candidates without CUET score shall not be considered eligible for admission in the said course.

Candidates seeking admission to M.Ed course at Assam University should have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in B.Ed/BA, B.Ed/B.Sc B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognised University. All seats will be filled based on merit in the CUET-2023 to be conducted by NTA. However, up to a maximum of 50% of seats shall be reserved for candidates who graduated from Assam University affiliated colleges with the provision of lateral migration based on merit. Candidates without CUET scores shall not be considered eligible for admission. A Weightage of five additional credit points shall be given to the candidates possessing a master’s degree with at least 50% marks. Other things being equal preference shall be given to the candidates with experience of teaching in recognised institutions.

Assam University accepts admission for its BSc-B.Ed course mainly through CUET-UG. Candidates who are interested in taking admission to BSc-B.Ed integrated course must take the examination described above. 

BSc-B.The Ed integrated course of Assam University is combination of both BSc and B.Ed, providing a more comprehensive and enhanced knowledge for students who further want to shift their career towards teaching.

Applicants must have a valid scorecard/ rank in CUET-UG, which must be above the closing range mentioned in the merit list released by Assam University. After the release of the merit list, eligible applicants should register for the counselling process through the university’s official website, followed by document verification and fee payment.

Assam University accepts admission in MCom through CUET-PG, for which the candidate should have passed BCom with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Therefore, candidates willing to take admission in MCom at Assam University must take the CUET-PG exam and must prepare well to achieve a good rank because only those applicants whose rank is above the closing rank specified in the merit list released by Assam University will be considered for the counselling round followed by the document verification and fees payment.

Also, 50% of the MCom course seats are reserved for Assam University internal students, i.e., those who have passed the qualifying examination from Assam University affiliated college.

Tezpur University offers three specialisations for the BSc B.Ed integrated course. The BSc B.Ed Integrated course specialisaitions are given below:

• Integrated BSc B.Ed in Chemistry
• Integrated BSc B.Ed in Mathematics
• Integrated BSc B.Ed in Physics.

Each BSc B.Ed specialisation has a seat intake of 13. That makes the total seat intake for BSc B.Ed Integrated course 39. The course is designed in such way that it could provide knowledge of the subject and pedagogical skills, and to prepare them to pursue their teaching careers according to their specailsations. Candidates planning to take admission in BSc B.Ed integrated course at Tezpur University must take the CUET-UG exam because Tezpur Univeristy accepts admission for any of its UG courses through CUET-UG.
