IIT Guwahati placed at #8 under the 'Engineering' category as per NIRF 2025 reports. India Today ranked it at #5 under the same category. There are no separate rankings for the BTech & M.Tech programme. But the overall ranking suggests that the institute is one of the top Engineering institutes of the country. Surely a good option for BTech/ MTech.

Yes, IIT Guwahati is considered to be one of the top IITs. Although it is not as famous as IIT Delhi or Madras, the institute is ranked quite high for Engineering programmes. On the basis of NIRF 2025 report, IIT G ranked at #8. The top seven places were occupied by other IITs only. When compared with newer gen of IITs, it holds a better standing and status quo.
