McGill University offers two types of scholarships for first-year international students i.e., need-based and merit-based scholarships. Need-based scholarships are generally given on a need basis. However, international students must meet minimum eligibility to get merit-based scholarships. It might be easier to get need-based scholarships but it is very hard to get a merit-based scholarship at McGill. Therefore, the university generously offers scholarships to international students. Besides, various external funding agencies offer scholarships to international students going to Study in Canada.
