Candidates seeking BA admission at IUST must necessarily meet the course-specific eligibility criteria specified by the university. The eligibility criteria depend on the choice of specialisation. The course-wise eligibility requirements for BA admission at the university are as follows:
- Candidates seeking admission to a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication must have scored at least 50% in Class 12 from a recognised board

IUST Awantipora grants admission to applicants who fulfil the preset eligibility and selection criteria. Hence, getting direct admission to the BA programme of IUST may not be possible. Only the candidates who have completed Class 12 with the minimum required aggregate are eligible for admission. Further, candidates are required to appear for CUET UG to be considered for the selection process. Candidates who do not have a valid CUET UG score can also apply for admission against vacant seats (if any). However, preference is given to candidates with a valid CUET UG score.
