The Staff Selection Commission has opened the SSC One-Time Registration facility for the candidates who are already registered for the exam. The candidates can edit their personal and professional details on the official website - ssc.gov.in. The candidates can edit such details till the further notice. The SSC CHSL 2025 city slip and admit card will be released soon. SSC CGL answer key 2025 will be released soon. The Staff Selection Commission has introduced Public Disclosure of Marks of Non-Selected Candidates for all who take part in the final selection round of the SSC exams such as SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD, etc.

However, SSC Selection Post exams are excluded from this disclosure policy. The SSC registrations 2025 are Aadhaar-enabled from now onwards. SSC GD Constable Exam 2025: The SSC GD physical dates 2025 were August 20 to September 12, 2025. The SSC GD PET/ PST result will be released soon. The SSC GD 2025 exam was held from February 4 to 25, 2025. The SSC GD Constable 2025 notification was released on September 5, 2024, on the official website- ssc.gov.in. The SSC GD application form 2025 was released along with the notification. The last date to fill out the online application form was October 15, 2024.

SSC MTS Exam: The SSC MTS 2025 notification was released on June 26, 2025. The Staff Selection Commission released the application form for the SSC MTS on June 26 along with the notification. The last date to fill out the SSC MTS application form 2025 was July 24, 2025.

Q:   Will there be SSC GD exam in 2026?
A: 

Yes, there will be the SSC GD Constable exam in 2026. The Commission has notified the tentative dates for the conduct of the Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination, 2026. The SSC GD Constable 2026 recruitment exam will be held in January-February 2026. The SSC GD 2026 notification will be released in October 2025.

Q:   Is there any negative marking in the SSC GD exam?
A: 

Yes, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. The SSC GD exam is an objective type exam conducted online as Computer Based Exam (CBE). The marks assigned for the correct answer is 2 marks and the negative marking is 0.25 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. It is advisable that candidates should avoid the guesswork in the exam as the wrong guess would lower down the overall score.

What is SSC?

The full form of SSC is Staff Selection Commission. Staff Selection Commission is an attached office to the Ministry of Personnel and Training. It was established after the recommendation of First Administrative Reforms Commission (1st ARC) in 1975 as the Subordinate Service Commission through an executive resolution. In 1977, it was renamed Staff Selection Commission on September 26, 1977. The SSC GD physical result 2025 was released on October 13, 2025. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC GD result 2025 on June 17, 2025 after the completion of the assessment process. The SSC GD result has been announced at ssc.gov.in. Along with the GD result, the commission announces the force-wise and category-wise GD Constable Cut Off. The SSC GD marks 2025 will also be released. The SSC GD marks and score card contain the section-wise scores of candidates. Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. According to the SSC CHSL official notification, applicants must be between the age group of 18 to 27 years to be eligible to apply for the SSC CHSL exam, as per the cutoff date prescribed by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The upper age limit for the general category is 27 years, Whereas reserved category candidates are given age relaxation in the upper age limit. The SC/ ST category candidates get 5 years relaxation, OBC category candidates et 3 years and PwD category get 10 years relaxation.

SSC Recruitment Process

The SSC recruitment process varies as per different exams. However, given below is the general SSC recruitment process followed for all the exams for the reference of candidates:

Step 1: SSC registration

Firstly, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission – ssc.nic.in. Once registered, candidates can proceed towards filing the SSC application form for their respective exams. The SSC application fee for most recruitment exams is INR 100.

Step 2: SSC admit card

Next, candidates need to download the SSC admit card for their respective exams from the official regional websites of the commission. Candidates can download their admit card by logging in using details such as registration/application number, date of birth and password.

Step 3: SSC exam

Candidates have to appear for their respective SSC exams as per the details mentioned on their admit cards. It may be noted that each SSC exam is conducted in different parts/tiers/papers. For instance, SSC CGL is conducted in four tiers – two computer-based tests (CBTs), one descriptive pen-and-paper-based test (PBT) and one computer proficiency test/skill test/document verification round.
