IUST Awantipora accepts JEE Main (Paper 1) scores for admission to its BTech courses (except in BTech in Food Technology. These entrance exams are conducted by the NTA. The exact exam dates vary yearly. JEE Main (Paper 1) is usually conducted in January every year.

For admission to BTech in Food Technology, the university accepts CUET UG (relevant subject) scores. CUET UG is usually conducted around May - June every year.

As of now, the exact admission dates for BTech admission at IUST Awantipora. However, the application process is currently ongoing. Aspirants who are have appeared or are appearing for Class 12 in the current year can apply online for admission. A 'Declaration for Result Awaited Candidates' must be filled by candidates applying before their Class 12 results are declared.
