Candidates need to pass BSc Agriculture/ BVSc & AH/ BTech Agriculture Engineering/ BSc Horticulture/ BSc Dairying/ BSc Forestry/ BSc Fisheries with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent CGPA to apply for SKUAST Jammu MBA programme. Aspirants with any other graduate degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate can also apply.

SKUAST Jammu selects candidates for MBA based on entrance exam score and merit in the last qualifying exam. Aspirants need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline to apply for MBA. The university also accepts national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT and CMAT for MBA admission. Selected candidates are further called for a group discussion and personal interview round.

SKUAST Jammu conducts SKUAST-J CET for admission to MSc course. The university conducts the exam for a duration of two and a half years. The exam includes one question paper each for concerned major subject group. The paper include 150 multiple-choice questions, each with four options. For correct answer 1 mark is given and for incorrect answer -¼ mark is deducted.

Aspirants seeking admission to SKUAST BSc (Hons) must complete Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with PCB/ PCM/ PCBM/ Agriculture (with Science subjects), besides English with 50% aggregate for OM, NRI/ NRI-sponsored category. The aggregate required is 40% for reserved categories. Candidates from states/ UTs other than Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh can only seek admission under the NRI/ NRI sponsored quota for BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BSc (Hons) Horticulture and against Self Financing, seats for PG courses kept under the All India Basis category.
