The cutoff for NIT Srinagar's BTech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programme differs each year. In 2023, the Round 1 and Last Round closing ranks for General All India category applicants were 24006 and 20540, respectively. In 2022, these rankings were 23915 and 17811, respectively. The starting rank for CSE in Jammu & Kashmir reserved seats was 523, with a closing rank of 1199 in 2023. Furthermore, the total cutoff for JEE Main at NIT Srinagar spans between 3161 and 6551.

SMVDU merit list is based on valid score of (CAT/MAT/Feb/May/CMAT 2024 along with score obtained in GD/PI in first phase. For vacant seats, score obtained in CUET (PG) 2024 by candidate along with score obtained in GD/PI will be considered. Cnadidates can apply online on the official website of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

SMVDU admits students based on the rank obtained in JEE/JOSAA/CSAB/UCEED for engineering programs and CUET-UG/CUET-PG for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Sciences, Management and Humanities. Admission in MBA programme will be based on CAT/MAT/CMAT/CUET score along with score obtained in GD/PI . In second phase for vacant seats in MBA programme CUET (PG) will be considered). Candidates who wish to take admission to the BSc Hons programme offered at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are required to appear for an entrance examination. The University and its affiliated colleges accepts the scores of CUET UG. Therefore, Class 12 marks are not enough for SMVDU BSc Hons course admission.
