Kursk State Medical University and Kazan Federal University are both well known universities, especially in MBBS program. Both the universities offer a 6-year course duration with not much difference in their fee structure. For English taught courses Kazan Federal University tuition fees for Indian students for one year is between around INR 2 L - INR 6 L) and the tuition fees vary as per the courses. For General Medicine course the tuition fee for a year is RUB 540,000 also note these facts are as per 2024-25 academic year so they are subject to change.

For Kazan Federal Uni admissions, the students are required to pass internal entrance examinations. Indian students can take the entrance exam only once. For Medicine course this exam has to be taken on site at Kazan also the applications for this university are accepted online.

The majority of the courses at Kazan Federal University Russia are offered in Russian language. Also, note that there many courses that are offered in English language. The programs that are taught in English are:

As per QS rankings KFU ranking is #450 in 2026 and this university ranks at #401 in 2025 so the university's rank has declined in the QS rankings but it has still maintained to rank in the Top 500 Universities worldwide. Furthermore this university has been rated 5+ overall in QS stars evaluation system and this university ranks Globally among Top 100 for Engineering - Petroleum, Top 100 for Education, and Top 200 for Linguistics.

Yes, getting medical insurance is mandatory for an Indian student to get access to legal residence. In case of any uncertainty, the doctor will bring the patient in a stable condition but further treatment will require insurance. Students with a deficiency of medical insurance will have to pay a penalty of RUB 2000-7000 (INR 2.1K - 7.6K).
