To be able to become a software engineer, you need to have PCM (physics, chemistry and mathematics) combination in your 12th standard. After you 12th board examinations are over, you need to appear for various entrance examinations.
I would suggest you to appear for IIT-JEE and AIEEE. These two entrance examinations provide admissions to IITs/ NITs and other government colleges, which are cost-effective.
I would also suggest you to appear for individual state examinations (OJEE in Odisha, EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, COMEDK in Karnataka, etc.). These exams also guarantee you good colleges and serve as a backup in case

If you are planning only 3 more years of education then 3 year diploma course is ideal. You can get into job after diploma and enhance your educational skills while on job.

I see that many students get confused with the different names provided by the different institutes for the same course and you are no exception. Computer Engineering and Computer Science Engineering refer to the same course. No course can guarantee you good placements. While it's the college's responsibility to bring in as many relevant companies as possible, getting placed in the company depends on the skills and knowledge of the student. I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions, kindly revert.

Most of the good courses such as PG Diploma in Mobile Computing by CDAC are for engineers or BCA/MCA/ B.Sc CS students. However, some computer training institutes also offer Mobile Computing and Apps Development courses where eligibility criterion are not very stringiest. You may look for such Institutes in your neighbourhood. There is small caution to you. Without formal Computer Science background you might face challenges in find an appropriate job. I will advice you to go for MCA and specialise in Mobile Computing.

After diploma in computer science, it is better to study B.Tech or B.E. because diploma is not engineering. To increase job opportunity and scope, you should complete your graduation in engineering.
After diploma in computer science, you will also get a job. You also may join in software company like TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS and many more. But your salary will be less as you have only diploma degree. Your opportunity will be also less.
So, try to first complete your graduation and then try for a better job. Or, go for further higher study. You may take lateral entry directly in second year of B.Tech if you wish after your diplom

Computer science engineering, equally covers both hardware and software aspects. Information technology engineering and software engineering has a lesser focus on the hardware aspect. However, this difference hardly matters as universities frequently keep updating the syllabus for each branch.
Unless and until, you get a job in a hardware manufacturing company like Intel, Logitech, etc. this little difference in the syllabus hardly matters. Most of the jobs offered is in the software domain. If you opt for information technology engineering, you can become a software engineer. If you opt for computer science engineering, you can b

At this moment, it is good. With lot of new technologies coming in like cloud and Big data (not wholly new, but relatively new at least in the Indian space), there is some growth that is deemed to be possible until at least the next 5-10 years. This duration should be good enough to establish oneself firm footed.
Also, another mandate is the operation of Indian IT industry of late in the mode of "survival of the fittest". So, one should constantly be on their toes to keep up with the dynamic nature of this work space.
