For electrical students both courses are very good. You can opt any one from your base knowledge like if you have read micro controller/microprocessor, embedded system as well as have good hand in coding ( Assembly or C language) then obviously Embedded system suits you. In case of VLSI there should be command on microelectronics and VHDL & Xilinx (software). Work on it. Good luck.

You can apply for higher studies like Diploma in Engineering. As there are lots of job opportunities in the private and public sectors for both engineering (Surveyor, Turner, Hardware fitter, Mechanics, etc). And non-engineering trades (Craftsman, Fashion Technology, Horticulture, Insurance Agent, etc). If you have completed M.Sc IT, applying to another MS degree will be very difficult. You can complete PGDCA or the first year of MS IT, this depends on the career outcome and the subjects taught. You have to tally accordingly, check if you want industry related course or want to go for research. You can also drop a few emails to the universities and find out their preference.
