There is no much difference, both are subjects relating with computer programming and hardware. However, CS is an old name. Moreover, in IT some universities and institutions use to provide some more technical information regarding technology like nanotech, etc.

It is based on CMAT score. CDAC, SCIT are the colleges which provide MBA IT and both of them conduct their own exams. For SCIT, you need to give SNAP and CDAC has its own exam.
