The first step in the education of a school counselor is to obtain a bachelor's degree - usually in counseling, psychology, education or social work, though a degree in a related field can be acceptable. Following this four-year program, candidates must obtain a specialized master's degree in school counseling, which is required by most states for employment as a counselor in a school or university setting. Some school counselors first work more directly in education (as teachers or tutors) before entering graduate school to specialize in counseling. While this may provide useful insights into how educational settings function and how best to interact with students, it is by no means required.
Basic coursework for a master's degree in school counseling includes counseling techniques and various approaches to academic, social and behavioral issues. Aspiring school counselors should select their age or education level of interest, and accordingly select coursework that will best prepare them for working with such students. For those looking to become college counselors, for instance, additional courses that deal with career counseling are required. Training in childhood behavioral disorders or abuse reporting may be required of prospective elementary school counselors. A school counselor should also expect to enroll in continuing education courses throughout his or her career, in order to keep up with the latest developments in the field and maintain certification.

A travel / tourist guide's job is both delightful and challenging. A tourist guide has to make the tourist spots aesthetically appealing, whether it the narrow and filthy lanes of a historical city or the striking landscape of Himalayas.
To become an approved guide, you have to pass entrance exams. The Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management conducts guide training on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism.

-Regional level guides are trained by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India through the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM) or their chapters.-Since there are acute shortages of guides speaking some of the foreign languages such as Chinese, Russian, Korean, Thai, Arabic, Hungarian, Polish, Hebrew etc., linguists with specialized qualifications/proven skill and fluency in these languages may also be approved as Part-Time guide. Part-time Guides can hold regular employment in any other field other than in shopping establishments. They would however, undergo an abridged special training of 8 weeks successfully before they are certified as guides.
-The guide training course should be held by IITTM minimum once in two years.
The following educational qualifications and age limit are prescribed for
the direct selection of guides:
- Minimum: Graduate of a recognized University or three years degree holder in tourism/ Hospitality from a recognized University/Institute
-Fluency in English language is essential.
-Preference would be given to candidates having knowledge and fluency in a non-English foreign language.

Being a counselor is quite challenging and you need to possess some of the qualities mentioned below to become an effective counselor :
1. Counsellors should have excellent observation and listening skills; patience, tolerance and sensitivity; an understanding of your own attitudes and responses.
2.They also possess a belief that all clients are able to make positive changes; an appreciation of confidentiality issues.
3.They have the ability to speak in multiple languages or experience in mental health care.
4.They must have good communication skills which are obviously of utmost importance to counsellors; active listening, clarification, reflection and effective questioning skills.
