Yes, you can apply for the NET or SET exam.
The UGC NET and CSIR NET exam are national level exams, on the other hand, SET exam is a state level exam.
Both NET and SET exam are held for the same purpose that is for the selection of assistant professor posts and junior research fellowship.
The candidates who have Master's degree with more than 55% marks from the recognized university can apply for the UGC NET exam.
There is no age bar for lectureship but age should be less than 30 years for JRF.
The UGC published the list of approved universities on its website. You can check online if the university is approved or not?

Advanced Diploma is not equivalent to degree but you can pursue advanced Diploma with any degree. That way, you get two qualifications in HTE with same duration of your study.
