All candidates applying for Bachelor of Design programmes must fulfil the following criteria:
CRITERION 1 - AGE LIMIT
- Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years of age (relaxable by three years for reserved category) on or before July 1, 2016.

You can always apply to NID for an M.des course in the designing field you are interested in IF you for the eligibility criteria.

NIFT, Kolkata comes under top 5 NIFT centres. The faculty is one of the oldest and most experienced. And one can sit for the placement from any of the centres. So placement is not really an issue.

Yes, you can get selected and NIFT, Kolkata is really good for Fashion Communication. Though the department is new in NIFT, Kolkata yet it is doing excellent and is considered to be one of the best departments.

As per the 2016 entrance exam schedule of NIFT, for Bachelor of Design (B.Des) aspirants, the selection rounds are divided into 3 parts.
1.General Ability Test (GAT): 120 mins
There will be approximately 150 questions which will be based on Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, GK etc. Basically, typical entrance exam questions which test your knowledge, the presence of mind, calculative ability, English grammar & class 10th maths etc.
2.Creative Ability Test (CAT): 120 mins

You will have to clear NID or NIFT entrance exam, as these two are one of the premier institutes of design. There is no easy way out, as for any entrance exam you will have to prepare equally well to get through it.

- Be Creative
Obviously. This cannot be taught in any coaching classes or books or whatever, Think out of the box.Think of all the crazy ideas even though they might be silly(humour is also an added advantage sometimes)
- Speed Sketching
Practice speed sketching cause there are a lot of questions and you have less time to think and execute.Practice practice practice, stretch you won't break your wrist while speed draw sketched your limits. Ask your friend to give a random topic and you sketch it as fast as you can.
