Design Entrance Exam

Hi Gajendra,
To become a fashion designer you have to pursue a fashion designing course from a reputed institute.
The minimum qualification is 10+2 with 50% of marks.
To do Fashion designing you have to appear for entrance tests:-
1. Common Entrance Test for Design or
2. National Entrance Examination for Design or
3. NIFT entrance test.

Here are the tips to crack NIFT entrance exams:-
- Try to sketch almost anything and everything you come across.
- Browse through different newspapers, magazines and websites
- Take ideas from various posters, advertisements, banners etc., you come across.
- Keep your eraser away from you while sketching. It will help your lines become more bold and confident.
- Give importance to detailing where ever required, like the face of a human figure or the humans' outfits etc.
- Try to master the skills of human illustration. Concentrate more in proportions, form etc.
- Calligraphy skills come handy in banner design, posters, etc. Learn & practice different styles of lettering.
- Stick to the prescribed syllabus.

CEED is conducted by IDC, IIT Bombay in order to offer admission to aspirants in M.Des programs offered at colleges accepting CEED scores for admission. Self-preparation is an ideal way to prepare for the NIFT exam. The exam includes two parts A&B.
Part A consists of visualization and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, etc.
PART B consists of drawing, creativity, communication skills.
