ECE stream provides opportunities in varies fields like VLSI, embedded, signal processing, RF design, PCB design, analogue electronics, etc., you have a wide range of opportunities, so you can do more projects. If you are planning for higher studies ECE is a better option.

It's better to do mini projects in each and every semester.Try to learn Arduino and implement things based on lab equipment. Ex: op-amp, transistors and timers.

Petroleum engineering is an emerging new course in this engineering field. I have many friends who earns well than the ece ones even after ece being the older and more preferred one in comparison. UPES dehradun would be the best if you go for petroleum engineering. All the best.
