Please remember that lateral entry is invariably restricted to students domiciled in that state. For fees and other issues please keep looking for information around March / April.

Normally speaking, lateral entry directly into 2nd year of engineering is given to Diploma holders. However, in many states, thousands of seats are not filled. The sponsors of such colleges have prevailed upon some state government's to treat B.Sc as equivalent to Diploma for lateral admission in 2nd year of engineering. Hence, you need to status of your state from webpage of DTE of technical education.
However, a word of caution. More than 50% engineers could not get jobs after passing out. Around 300 engineering colleges are prevented from accepting any fresh admission from the coming session.
