Hello Balwinder,
To get admission into the private colleges like VIT University, SRM University, etc. you need to write and clear their respective entrance exams. They don't consider your JEE marks for admission.
The best private universities are:
1) BITS Pilani
2) VIT University
3) SRM University
4) Sastra University
5) Manipal University
6) Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University
7) Shiv Nadar University
8) Amity University
9) Chandigarh University
10) Lovely Professional University
These are the ones that I know and they are good for all engineering courses.
All the best!

Hello Nandini!
After SSN, VIT and SRM are good for placements. Actually, they best in Chennai for placements. But, they are private universities so you need to pass their entrance exams.
In terms of affiliated colleges, CEG campus of Anna University and MIT are good for placements. If you get SSN then prefer that. That is better for coaching (education) also.
All the best!

Hi Vishal, if you're particularly looking for a good engineering college then you can go for University of Technology and Management, Shillong. The college has only B.Tech and BBA specific courses with the prime focus on quality education but also UTM has a fairly good placement record.
