Electrical engineers are much in demand in India. In the recent years, from house to companies everywhere there is a necessity of electricity to function, offering numerous opportunities to electrical engineers.

It is totally up to your preference and what you want to do and like.
But if you wish to connect your prior knowledge of engineering consider majors in operations while doing PGDM.

Firstly, you have to complete your 12th with good marks. Then appear for CET of your state. Based on ranking, you will get admission to an engineering college for mechanical branch.

Mechanical Engineering is a core and evergreen branch. Almost all core industries and manufacturing units makes use of machines. Thus, for functioning and maintenance of machines, qualified Mechanical Engineers are needed by such Industries!
The point is- there are ample amounts of job opportunities for B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering graduates in Government as well as Private sector. When it comes to Government sector, organizations and departments like- Indian Railways, DRDO, Indian Armed Forces, BHEL, PWD, NHAI, State Wise Road Transport boards etc recruits Mechanical Engineers.
