Top institutions are IIT Madras, Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Kharagpur, NITs, private institutions BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore, and Amrita School of Engineering are having best Mechanical engineering program. If someone is considering a private institute or university in Punjab, Chandigarh University is a strong option. It's ranked #1 among private universities in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 and holds the #20 position in the NIRF 2024 rankings. This reflects not only its reputation in Punjab but also its recognition across India and internationally.

In India, top-ranked engineering colleges often include the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) like IIT madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi along with NITs, IIITs and some private institutions like Bits Pilani, VIT. If someone is interested in private institute/ University Chandigarh University could be a good option #1 in QS Asia University Rankings 2025 (among private universities) and #20 in NIRF 2024. That means it's not just famous in Punjab but recognised all over India and even globally. CGC Jhanjeri doesn't have such rankings.

The IIT Kharagpur accepts JEE Advanced exam for the admission to BTech and BTech Integrated courses. Taking into consideration the IIT Kharagpur cutoff 2023, the JEE Advanced cutoff for B.Tech. (Hons.) in Computer Science and Engineering programme stood at 277 for the General AI category candidates. To check category-wise cutoffs, candidates can check out the table below:

The BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus is not the same across all colleges, as every college committee sets a particular coursework pattern at the start of every academic year to be followed for the respective batch. The syllabus includes some core subjects, interesting electives, and lab work that gives detailed knowledge to the students about the workings of the field.

The time involved in the BTech Mechanical Engineering admission process varies from one college to another because every institution follows some particular guidelines when it comes to giving admission to the course. In general, it can easily take you around 2 to 4 months to get the final seat at a good college. 

The basic steps include giving the entrance test, completing the application forms, waiting for exam results, participating in the college counseling, seat allotment, and paying the course fee. So, you need to stay calm and patient during the entire process.

IIT Pune offers a total of 301 seats for its M.Tech cousre. The seats are further, spred across the offered specialisations. The Indian Institute of Technology Patna seat allotment is carried out as per the state and All-India quota.
