Yes, Haridwar University offers lateral entry to the BTech (Hons) course. The university offers BTech (LE) in specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication, CSE in AI & ML. Candidates who have completed Diploma examination or BSc degree from a recognised university can apply for BTech (LE).

With a GATE score of 500+ it can be a bit difficult to get admission into IISc Bengaluru. However, it can also depend on various factors, such as availability of the seats, candidates appeared for the exam, difficulty level of the question paper. You can enter BTech IT through lateral entry by completing your Diploma in IT because this pathway allows entry into the second year of BTech programming. Universities and colleges approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) commonly provide this program. To qualify for this programme you must maintain at least 60% success in your Diploma programme and the minimum criteria must be fulfilled. The duration of this course extends to 3 years but the cost for tuition can vary from INR 50,000 to INR 1.5 Lacs per academic year.

The EMCET examination failure cannot stop you from getting into top engineering colleges through their management quota seats that make up 15-20% of total enrollment. Management quota seats become available to candidates based on their 10+2 performance and they require at least 45 to 50% grades in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to qualify. Management quota seats at different engineering colleges cost students between INR 1.5 Lacs and INR 2.5 Lacs each year based on their college selection and targeted branch.

JIS College of Engineering and Haldia Institute of Technology are offering full-time M.Tech courses in Kolkata. Both the institutions have been placed under the #201-300 rank band in the NIRF Ranking 2024 (Engineering category).
