No, mere qualifying the VSAT exam doesn't 100 percent guarantee you the admission, however, it helps you proceed you the next stage, which is the counselling.

By qualifying in the VSAT you will increase your chances, and your final admission will depend upon the number of seats, your merit, rank and the courses for which you are planning.

In CSE, subjects are a mix of coding, theory, and projects. If you keep studying a little every day, it becomes easy. Consistency matters more than late-night study before an exam. Teachers also explain in detail, so listening in class saves time. Many students target an 8 CGPA and reach it because the evaluation is fair.

As the VSAT is not very difficult compared to other engineering entrance exams like the JEE, it becomes easy for even the average students to crack it easily. However, to do the same they need follow the prep tips mentioned below -

  • Stick to the NCERT books and a couple of supplementary books, thats it.
  • Don't overburden yourself with a lot of books, and prep notes. Just stick to the basics and cover the syllabus of VSAT well before time.
  • Give mock tests.
  • Solve past year question papers in abundance.
