The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) is an all India examination conducted to provide admissions to various M.Sc (Two Year) / M.Sc Ph.D Dual Degree and other post-B.Sc Programmes based on the performance in a single test, Further 12th/HSC subjects are considered while admission, hence you are not eligible for M.Sc. GATE cutoff for interviews directly : 770/1000. However, this will not get you in, if there are better rank holders competing because the extra score will be weighed and added. For the written test, they do publish a cut-off, but greater than 40 people are shortlisted, out of which roughly 2022 are admitted ( Gen), so it is better not to look at the shortlist criteria. You will find the weightage of MMA PCB and Interviews in the website. I can speak for myself: 82/120 in MMA, attempted 84/100 in PCB computer Science. I think all of them were correct, but it is a subjective test, so what my exact score was is mere speculation. Interview

Both are good branches. But I suggest you to go for ECE since this branch have still scope not like that EEE. EEE have less scope comparatively to ECE. Also practical knowledge is more in ECE. Organisation prefer ECE engineer first than AEEE. If you want to pursue for robotics then you can choose it in PG course after choosing ECE in B.Tech. But you can't choose robotics after taking EEE since it little bit harder to understand the robotics then Because electronic clears your concepts easily and in a better way.

After Diploma, you can go with degree level courses or PG Diploma programs. B.Tech degree can be obtained with specialisation in Automobile Engineering or Automobile design Engineering. Admission to the course can be done through lateral entry, and thereby you can save one year. Post Graduate Diploma in Automobile Engineering is also suitable for you. Or else, you can try for a job with railways, defense, government departments etc.

Hello Kapil,
No, it not necessary. It actually depends on your college that offers placement opportunities. If core companies for mechanical engineering branch comes then you may get a core job or else, you will be forced to get a job in software companies only. So, you need to choose a college that offers core companies for placements.
