Hello Joel,
Production engineering is related to the manufacturing processes and machine design. It is a very essential concept for mechanical operations. PSG is a good choice for the same. Food technology is different from the production technology.

You will not get top branches but sure, you can go for a lower one and put good efforts to get an upgrade of dual specialisation course and get EC/CS then.

Sure but BMS is no. 3 and PESIT is 4, but the placements of PESIT are done along with that of PESU and the campus has same advantages so you get placement with No. 1. Go for CS in PESU else, stick with EC in PESU, if you are getting BMS for CS then you can consider the change.

Hi Vinesh,
Most of the colleges allow you to change your branch after one year. However, there might be some criteria based on SGPA, which varies from college to college. Therefore, you have to maintain a very good academic record.

You should go for chemical engineering branch at Amrita Visha Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. This is a very good college in terms of placement, infrastructure and faculty members.

You should go for IIIT Bangalore, and wait till the Advance score (not rank) is out for applying to IIST and IISER.
You can get NIT- Trichy, Warangal, Calicut and Allahabad and others but the institutions I have mentioned are the best for CS as they are research-oriented institutions and have much higher package offering.
