No, MA Linguistics and an MA English Literature are not the same. MA English Literature is about Literature written by noteworthy writers. Linguistics is considered to be the Science of language. In Linguistics, you study the Science of language, words, phrases & sentences. In terms of employment prospects, an MA in English Literature has a wider scope of opportunities.
