English is the language of instruction for the majority of the programs at Coventry University. Therefore, international students are required to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language. International students are recommended to have an IELTS score of 5.0 for undergraduate courses and a minimum of 5.5 for postgraduate courses. Alternatively, Indian students with 60% or above in HSSC and 65% or above in HSSC are not required to give any English language proficiency test.

Yes, Lakehead University offers Academic English Programs (AEP) to applicants who meet the university's admission requirements but do not meet the English language proficiency requirements. Such students are automatically considered for admission through AEP. There is no cutoff released for BA Enlish (Hons) courses started 2022. For BA (Hons) in 2021, however, the lowest cutoff released stood at 99 per cent and the admissions closed right after the first round of cutoff released for General category candidates.
