Based on those subjects you had you are not eligible for an IT Course. Always check admission requirements before applying. Look for courses in Humanities and you will get through.

An English degree opens a number of avenues. You may choose from wide disciplines such as Mass Communication and Journalism, Film editing, copy writing, Linguists, etc. One may go for Masters and Ph.D if interested in a research or teaching career. English hons students can also opt hospitality and management careers.

In my opinion, you should read English books and read English newspapers. You should write in English, speak in the English language in front of the mirror, you should watch English videos and practice to talk in the English language. Just be confident.

IELTS is an international exam. It stands for International English Language Test Series. Suppose if want to go abroad (English speaking nation) for your further study or willing to work abroad then this exam is required. It shows how fluent you are in English (all round). You can appear in this exam when you are fully prepared. Its result is shown in band levels ranging from 0 to 9. The more the band you scores the more you are proficient in English.
