Executive MBA programs are usually structured in accordance with the academic needs of professionals with good industry experience. These programs are usually compact versions of a general MBA program delivered in smaller time periods. As far as the comparison of benefits goes, it is highly subjective but in a broad sense it all depends on your objectives and career goals. You do not necessarily need an MBA for fulfilling your career goals. We should not view MBA as a ticket to a fat pay cheque. That has not helped anyone ever in the long term. We should view it as an academic program that equips us with skills and knowledge to achieve

Dear Ankit,
The chance of placement with full time MBA is definitely better but you need to ensure that you do it from a reputed B-school.
As you have mentioned that you have an experience of 5 years in IT, so if you are satisfied with the company you are in and need a qualification to get promoted to higher management levels within the organization, then you can also consider weekend batches.
But if you want to move to a new organization and are willing to invest 1 year, then you can choose full time MBA.
Hope this helps. You can choose a good B-school in your city and also find out the placement record of their previous batches.

Executive MBA programs are typically designed for working professionals. An executive MBA program is a lot like a regular MBA program. The main difference is that an executive MBA program is primarily designed to educate working executives, managers, entrepreneurs, and other business leaders.
After earning an executive MBA, you could continue to work in your current position. You may be able to accept more responsibility or pursue promotion opportunities. You could also explore new and more advanced career options in your industry and within organizations that are looking for executives with an MBA education.

Hi Tiwari,
Executive MBA is normally pursued by working professionals with anywhere between 8 - 10 years of experience. An Executive MBA program is a full time program. Most of these candidates are sponsored by their companies. The duration of the program is one year and it is a very demanding program.
Distance MBA on the other hand is pursued by working professionals who want to grow on the job.
There are many Universities who provide distance MBA/EMBA:
1. Indian Institute of Management – Lucknow.
2. Faculty of Management Studies - University of Delhi.
3. Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
4. Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

Hi Tiwari,
The EMBA program is typically completed in a period of one to two years. During this period, you can gain a wide range of new skills and sharpen your analytical abilities by combining coursework with day-to-day professional experience.
Basically Executive MBA is of one year. Two year EMBA has same curriculum as one year EMBA, its just that in two year EMBA you have to work in a company for 1 year and submitted your thesis once its completed. And in one year EMBA you need to submitted the thesis within one year.
Hope it helps. Please feel free to revert. Click on the thumbs up if you found this useful.
Wish You Luck!
