First of all, do not loose hole and take decision in haste. Please read the whole answer carefully. Then make your choice.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay is a public engineering institution. In the QS World University Rankings 2014, IIT Bombay was ranked as India's top university. So, if you are doing engineering from here you are one of the privileged ones.
But as you said you want to do game programmer. Four year's undergraduate courses are available for this. But, lots of institutes also have these courses (high level) for graduates.

Animation calls for a wide bouquet of skills from traditional art skills to articulation skills, storytelling to aesthetic appreciation, and creativity to technical prowess. Animation and digital media careers are practical oriented and will need strong mentoring. Hi Baldeep,
Game designing in India is specifically not a sought after course as there are very few degrees available and lack of original designing too. If you are really keen to go for it a UG or PG degree from abroad is better.
