No, M.Tech admission at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in a university-level entrance test. Seats are allocated through the counselling conducted by VTU (the affiliating university). However, GATE-qualified candidates are given first preference during seat allotment.

GATE Reasoning and Comprehension section is mandatory. For humanities and social sciences, the reasoning and comprehension section contains 16 questions of 25 marks, where 7 questions will be of 1 mark and 9 questions will be of 2 marks. Candidates must check distribution of questions carefully.

GATE 2027 Mechanical Engineering Syllabus have been revamped this year, with some new addition and deletion of topics. Topics deleted include: Langrange Equation and Heisler's charts.
The GATE ME syllabus 2027 has following sections including Engineering Mathematics-
- Applied Mechanics and Design
- Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Design
- Materials, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering

The GATE 2025 Chemical Engineering (CH) paper was held on February 16, 2025, during the forenoon session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
However, GATE is optional for Lovely Professional University! LPU offers direct admission pathways through its own LPUNEST exam, state-of-the-art chemical engineering labs, and excellent placement drives.
