Students accepted into the PGDM programme at GIBS Business School must possess an adequate academic foundation and an ample level of aptitude as demonstrated by the Previous Graduate Data Form. On CAT, the usual cutoff is approximately 60%-65%ile (lower than what top-tier IIMs require), but still allows for quality applicants to be accepted into GIBS PGDM program. On MAT, the last cutoff was between 65%-70%, and XAT is closely aligned (approximately 60%-65%ile) to this range of scores. For CMAT, the last cutoff was generally in the range of 65%-70%ile. The GMAT anticipated score range is around 500-550; which is in line with the percentile cutoffs of the previous entrance exams.  

These cutoffs provide only a basic minimum standard to use when shortlisting students for group discussion, individual interviews and writing assessments later on during the admission process. An admission decision can be based on many things including the score received on all entrance exams as well as an individual's educational achievements, communication proficiency and general character. This allows GIBS to accept those applicants who have not achieved exceptionally high scores yet exhibit vast potential as a manager.

GIBS has made learning more hands on and interactive by incorporating reading materials and presentations into the syllabus. Classroom discussion is enhanced through the use of readings prior to class, such as case studies, research articles, and industry reports. Readings may foster critical thinking about the subject matter and help prepare students to participate in class discussion and debate. Coming into class equipped with a base level of understanding allows students to ask informed questions and/or discuss more complex concepts in depth.

Presentations are also an important aspect of the learning process. Every week, students are asked to present their findings from assigned readings, group projects, and/or individual assignments. This practice helps build confidence in presenting as well as developing skills necessary to convey or clarify complex ideas to diverse audiences. In addition, instructors at GIBS work with students in collaborative presentations, which simulate real world situations involving problem solving and proposing solutions.

Through the integration of reading materials and presentations, GIBS has established a culture where learning is not just passive listening to a lecture, but rather, students actively participate in the classroom to build skills that will enable them to succeed in future careers. If you've taken the CAT or MAT multiple times, you're probably wondering if you can submit multiple attempts to GIBS during the application process. It's an easy answer; just include details about each test attempt (e.g., date taken) and attach each of your scorecards.

Generally speaking, if you've taken the CAT or MAT multiple times, you'll be expected to submit your the highest available score. This is taken into account by GIBS when evaluating your application because their goal is to assess each candidate based on their the highest performance.

The key point is that the scorecards must be authentic and easily verifiable by the GIBS admissions committee. While you do not need to submit every attempt you've taken, if you submit multiple scores from your CAT or MAT, the admissions committee will evaluate those scores with a focus on your the highest percentile or composite score (whichever is greater). This ensures all applicants will have a fair chance to present their the strongest applications.

Once your scores are received, the GIBS admissions team will evaluate your application via group discussions and interviews, among other means. While the entrance exam score is only one part of the entire application evaluation process, submitting your the highest score for consideration will help maximize your chances of being invited for an interview.

As part of the GIBS admission process, candidates who have taken an admissions test (such as the CAT or MAT) must include that information in their application. This includes registering online for the GIBS application process. Candidates are required to provide basic information regarding their academic history, personal information, as well as any results achieved from any admissions tests taken. 

To finish your online application, you will be asked to enter your CAT|MAT registration number; therefore, it's very important that you know what your registration number is prior to filling out your application. As soon as you finish entering all required information, you'll upload a scanned copy of the test scorecard as proof of taking the CAT or MAT.
