MAT scores are one of the factors taken into consideration when determining whether or not a student is eligible for financial aid/scholarships through GIBS. The school awards merit-based scholarships to students who achieve high scores on any of the following nationalized entrance exams: MAT, CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. Additionally, students with walking scores will have a greater likelihood of receiving financial assistance, as awards are given in acknowledgement of exceptional performance or potential in academics. Besides evaluating a student merely on his/her exam results, GIBS will take an overall view of the student's application, including their prior academic work, extra-curricular participation, and interview results, so that deserving students will not have to carry a larger financial burden than necessary while pursuing their management studies and then establishing a successful career.

GIBS does not have an additional reservation policy for students applying through CAT or MAT. Admission is based entirely upon merit, and students can apply using their scores from the national level entrance exams: CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT and GIBS 's own entrance exam. Each student will be assessed equally, through group discussions and personal interviews following their qualifying exams. The institution does not adhere to a set quota for any particular entrance exam; therefore, a student's overall performance and aptitude, as well as communication skills, will be taken into consideration. A wide range of applicants from different backgrounds will have equal opportunities for admission based on their ability and potential, rather than having admissions based upon specific exam reservations.

GIBS has a placement cell that strongly supports student placement and career direction by working with all types of recruiters. The placement cell offers training for students in communication, aptitude, and interviewing to prepare them for recruitment programs. To help students discover their strengths and potential career paths, GIBS organizes mock interviews, workshops, and other career counseling sessions. The school brings in professionals from the field to deliver guest lectures and act as mentors so that students can gain a better understanding of what employers expect. Students are also given opportunities for internships to gain practical experience prior to their final placements. This structured way of placing students allows them to graduate with self-confidence, employability, and many types of career options.

Students at GIBS can obtain a vast array of placement packages based on their diversity within the job market. The highest salary packages offered were about 16.15 Lakhs Per Annum (LPA), which indicates how GIBS has established many strong relationships with businesses in their industry and attracts the interest from some of the best companies to work. The average package was approximately 7.8 LPA which demonstrates the consistent success students are experiencing in securing jobs after graduating from GIBS. The lowest package offered is generally around 4.5 LPA and thus, even the entry-level positions will allow new graduates to develop a stable foundation for their future success.
