From my side, there isn't really a strict “minimum CAT score” that GIBS publicly declares like some colleges do. When I applied, CAT was just one part of the whole selection and a lot also depended on the GD/PI, communication, clarity about why PGDM, and overall attitude.

I've seen classmates with very different score ranges getting selected because GIBS looks more at potential and how you present yourself rather than just the number. So even if your CAT score isn't too high, it doesn't close the door — they genuinely focus on the student, not just the percentile.

Honestly ya, they do guide personally. Like in my case, during internships & projects I was literally asking doubts every 2 days  and they didn't make it weird. They actually sit and help you figure stuff instead of just saying “manage yourself.”

Even for future plans, some of us were talking about higher studies & switching domains, and faculty actually gave proper direction instead of those generic “all the best” types. Felt more like mentorship than just normal teaching.

So ya in GIBS you're not just left to survive on your own. They make sure you know what you're doing and where you're going.

Honestly if you're comparing IBMR vs GIBS Bangalore, from what I've seen as a student — GIBS is clearly on another level.
The whole vibe of the college is more updated, corporate-focused, and student-driven. IBMR is decent, no disrespect, but GIBS really pushes you with things like IRE sessions, entrepreneurship stuff, corporate talks, placements prep, internships, events, networking — all of that adds up big time.

Also the kind of exposure GIBS gives is insane. You'd see MIT alumni, global speakers, CEOs randomly walking in for sessions.
Plus the culture here is very student-friendly + practical. Nothing boring or outdated-type.

GIBS is pretty flexible when it comes to entrance exams. They accept almost all the common management tests — CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, State CET, and even GMAT. In my batch itself, we had students who came through different exams, not just CAT.

Honestly, that's one thing I liked about GIBS — they don't restrict the admission chances to only one or two exams. If you've taken any recognised management entrance, it counts. After that, they focus more on your overall profile, interview, and how serious you are about management studies, which makes the process feel fair rather than purely score-driven.

Yeah, you can definitely get a scholarship based on MAT score for PGDM at GIBS. In fact, in my batch quite a few students came in through MAT and got some level of scholarship depending on their percentile and overall profile. It's not like only CAT matters — MAT is also considered seriously along with academics, personal interview, and sometimes extracurricular stuff.

What I liked is GIBS doesn't make it feel out of reach. If your MAT score is decent and you perform well during the admission process, there's a genuine chance. So yeah, as a student I'd say it's totally possible and worth trying instead of assuming it's only for top ra

CAT and MAT scores do matter for scholarships at GIBS, but it's not like only toppers or super high percentile students get considered. It's competitive for sure, but the good part is GIBS looks at the overall profile — not just one exam number. So if someone has decent CAT/MAT scores plus good academics, participation, or even strong interview performance, they still have a fair shot.

In my batch I've seen people with mid-range MAT scores also getting some scholarship benefit, so it's not limited to the top 1%. I feel GIBS keeps it student-friendly that way. It's competitive but not impossible, and if you perform well in entran
