Electrical engineering is better in terms of GATE/ESE point of view, however, hardly any PSUs visit HBTU based on two to three years of experience.

General rank? General rank must be within 20 thousand, although I am not sure because it's the first time HBTU is taking admissions through JEE Mains marks.

In terms of placement both the branches are equal. But being in CS you will get good grades as compared to mechanical branch.Faculties are better in mechanical engineering(that's my point of view) and are often concerned about conducting various workshops/seminars for students.Afterall it's based on your interest what you want to do.Also there is not much difference in mechanical and CS cutoffs.

HBTU is way better than UIET, first of all, its the quality of students that reach there in HBTU, next you can compare placements between these colleges. Most of the non-core branches in HBTU have 100% placement. Companies like Samsung, Amazon, Maruti, General Motors, Asian paints, BEL etc visit HBTU. Students crack very good ranks in competitive exams. The only cons in HBTU is that infrastructure is a little bit disappointing in terms of the standard of the college.

Hello Aditya,
Well, HBTI is taking admission via JEE Mains from this year, so we cannot predict the exact cut-off, but since it is a reputed college then the cut-off must be high, so any score more than 140 in JEE Mains is considered safe for the admission.

Hello Gupta,
From this year, HBTI is taking admission via JEE Mains, so we are also not aware of the exact cutoff, however, since it is a govt. college the cutoff must be high so you need to score well in JEE Mains to get admission there.
